What was your first job and did you enjoy it?

I think my very first job was stacking up tomato sauce cans on the palette. I was quite young (secondary school), it was summer, I could chat to my friends the whole day and got paid for it. Yes, I did enjoy it :).

What led you to this career path?

I grew up behind the Iron curtain so access to computers (even the bad local clones) was very very limited. One year my older brother got a summer job in Eastern Germany and was able to buy Amstrad Z80 computer. I spent most of the time playing games initially but later started to play around with Basic. I think that’s what started it.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working remotely at Next Chapter?

I’ve been working remotely for quite a few years now at various companies – how it usually looked liked – everybody was working in their little bubble people only left for a very short time for meetings and stand-ups. With Next Chapter it’s a bit different, there is much more engagement, I spent at least one hour a day talking to other people. Nathan & Jordan are always trying new ways, cool tools and games to keep the team together.

What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?

I’d love to get back into pottery making (and do some more woodworking).

What’s the best concert you ever went to?

U2 concert in Auckland 2019.

What would be your idea of the best holiday ever?

Spend some time in a remote forest without computers, phones just focusing on nature and making stuff with my hands.

What design trend are you loving right now?

I love that neumorphism is getting more traction in mobile UIs, love the current minimalistic trend.
